Toting the Boat
A couple of weeks ago Nathaniel and I were disappointed to realize that his johnboat was a little too heavy for he and I to reasonably put on top of my Expedition or our family van. He could fish out of it with a friend who has a utility trailer, but lacking a trailer of my own, he and I had no means to tote the boat anywhere. Then, today, on the way to church, it occurred to Nathaniel that we might be able to put the boat in the back the Expedition, instead of trying to put it on top of the truck, and that it shouldn't be that different from toting it in the back of the pickup that I used to own. Well, we tested it today, after we got home, and it indeed worked just fine, and I'm confident we can tie it in to make it very stable. We need to get a heavy duty sheet of plastic to put beneath the boat when we pull it out of the water after fishing so that the truck doesn't become a stinky mess; however, it appears we're back in business. Little lakes around here, here we come!
