"Good one?" Mike Taylor asked, having set the hook.
"About the same," I replied, not feeling much resistance from the fish.
We'd caught a few fish early, all in Gene Larew Salt Flick'Rs, bur none had weighed much more than a pound. This fish felt like the others, and I couldn't see far down into the stained water.
It wasn't until I swang the fish to land it that I realized I was off with my idea that it was "about the same" as the others.
That gave Mike and I a good laugh, and of course we repeated the same phrase every time either of us hooked another bass or a crappie for the rest of the morning.
Off to Lake Keystone to catch crappie now!
