One Cast, One Bass

The plan was to move a canoe from one pond to another, and we intentionally didn't bring rods so that we would not get distracted. However, when we went to get a paddle from a shed by one of the ponds, there in the corner stood a lonely looking push-button ultralight outfit. And beside it in a ledge were just a couple of lures. Only out of compassion, because the tackle looked lonely, we took it for a ride in the truck. I resolved to make only a single cast upon arrival at the other pond, because we really did need to get back home and had plans to fish more later in the day (more in that later). Happily for the rod, reel, jighead and plastic worm that so much wanted to be useful, one cast was all that was needed!
