Still Summer at the Pond

Despite yesterday's suggestion of fall on the way, the bream and bass at the pond clearly are still in summer mode. Nathaniel, Asher and I visited the pond for an hour yesterday afternoon, and despite going small and tipping our jigs with live worms, we only managed two bluegills and one small bass. Interestingly, I caught two of the fish on a Lindy Rattl'N Flyer Spoon, a little ice spoon that rarely get seen by fish in this part of the country. My bream came on a vertical presentation, somewhat typical of how I would present the same lure through the ice. The bass darted out from a tree and hit the spoon swimming.
