Yesterday afternoon brought as fast a temperature drop as FLW Tour pro Jeff "Gussy" Gustufson remembers witnessing, with the temperature plunging from 70 to 40 in about 20 minutes. This morning's daylight temperatures will ne right around freezing, with 10 to 15 MPH winds driving down the wind chill.
Practice for this weekend's FLW Tour event on Lake Hartwell began warm and will finish cold. The tournament, on the other hand, will begin cold, with a high on the low 40s and rain forecast for Thursday, but should end warm, with weekend highs well up into the 70s.
So what does that mean to the fish, which are ever in transition this time of year? That's what all the pros will try to figure out during today's final day practice day. Seems like the fish might be caught a big range of ways and and that an angler might need to change with the weather to keep up with the fish.
