I enjoyed seeing the spread put out by Captain Lee Haash and his excellent first mate, Andrew. Using planers, outriggers, divers and various other tools and 15 lines they covered a huge swath of water with every trolling pass and spread baits vertically from about 30 to 90 feet deep.
Just getting the baits out was quite a process, and I confirmed with Andrew that the lines had to go out in a certain order or the lines will get tangled. The captain and mate worked together, each handling one side of the boat. Best thing for our group to do was to stay out of the way.
Once the lines were out, the flashers, flies and spoons at the ends of the lines were working all the time, and it wasn't long before a rod way throbbing and a reel screaming. It was king salmon time.
